How to access your computer if you forget your password.

Even though how important something is, we sometimes tend to forget them – for instance, our computer passwords. What will you do if you wake up one day, totally forgetting what your password was? The worst part is, there is no clue. What now?

Today, you will learn to ways on how to unlock your computers if you happen to forget your password. Well, thank me later.

METHOD 1 – Through another Administrator

Step 1

Upon opening your computer, the log in screen will appear. Switch to another available administrator whose password you remember.

Note: If you’re on Windows 7, press “Ctrl+Del+Alt” and click “Switch User”. If you’re using Windows 8, click the arrow on the left of the user’s image and a list of all the other administrators will appear. Choose one account whose password you remember.

Step 2

Type the password of the other administrator and press enter.

Step 3

Click the Start button at the bottom left of the screen and go to the Control Panel.

Step 4

In the Control Panel, click the “User Accounts and Family Safety”, then choose “User Accounts” and in the options that will appear, choose “Add or Remove User Accounts”.

Step 5

Choose the user account whose password you want to change or remove.

Step 6

Obviously, click “Change the password” or “Remove the password” according to what you want to do.

Note: If you want to change the password, choose the former, type your new password and confirm it. If you want to permanently remove the password, choose the latter again to confirm the action.

Step 7 (Optional)

If you want to log in to your computer again using your original user account and not the administrator, reboot your computer and log in accordingly.


METHOD 2 – Though reset disk

Step 1

Upon typing an incorrect password into the input box in the log in screen, a message link which says “Reset Password” will appear after the password input box.

Step 2

Click that link and follow the password reset wizard.

Step 3

Click “Next” and insert the password reset disk you have created previously.

Step 4

Choose the option “Password Reset Key Disk” and click “Next” once more.

Step 5
Follow the instructions that will appear on your screen. Type the new password for this user and finish the password reset by clicking the Finish button.

These are all simple steps on how to access your computer if you forget the password. Now that you know this, you don’t have to freak out next time you wake up forgetting all your computer passwords. Don’t forget these few steps and your life will be as easy as slicing a piece of cake. Just remember, to every one of your problems, there is always a solution.
