How to use tasks in Outlook

Microsoft Outlook's Tasks feature is a powerful tool that helps you manage your to-do list and stay organized. With its ability to create, assign, and track tasks, as well as its integration with other Outlook features, the Tasks feature can help you increase your productivity and get more done. In this article, we'll show you how to use Tasks in Microsoft Outlook.

Step 1: Open Microsoft Outlook

On your computer, open Microsoft Outlook.

Step 2: View the Tasks List

To view the Tasks list, click on the "Tasks" icon in the bottom-left corner of the Outlook window. The Tasks list will appear on the right side of the window.

Step 3: Create a New Task

To create a new task, click on the "New Task" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon. A window will appear, where you can enter the details of the task.

Step 4: Enter Task Information

In the "Task" window, enter the following information:

  • Subject: The name of the task.

Step 6: Edit or Delete a Task

To edit a task, double-click on it in the Tasks list to open the "Task" window. Make the desired changes and then click on the "Save & Close" button. To delete a task, right-click on it in the Tasks list and select "Delete."

Step 7: View Tasks by Date or Priority

You can view your tasks in the Tasks list by date or priority. To change the view, use the "By Date" and "By Priority" buttons in the "Tasks Tools" tab of the ribbon.
