Once you unplug your OTG flash drive on your android device you will be notified that your USB mass storage has been removed unexpectedly. It is because your USB is mounted on android system and it can damage your file if you did not unmount it properly.
To safely remove your USB or OTG drive goto
Setting>storage>advance click on your usb storage then click unmount
If you don't see the storage on setting just search "storage" from settings then click on usb mass storage click the unmount button.
